Hi everybody.

Firstly let me thank everyone for their patience as my website has taken a back seat to some other things in my life over the past few weeks.

Next, let me catch you up on some exciting new developments!

As you are all no doubt aware I took a weeks vacation Aug 15-19 during which I was to complete a long and varied list of things to do. The bad news is that I got almost none of those things done. The good news is that it was a good break from “things to do” … and I discovered a cool new computer game (which is the primary reason I got next to nothing done).

That was last week.

What happened this week holds the most exciting news.

I’m very happy to announce that I have accepted a new position in security consulting (and focusing on computer forensics) with a very cool company in downtown Chicago! My last day with my current employer is Sept. 9th and the new stuff starts on Sept. 12th. I’m really looking forward to it, it promises to be a challenging and exciting move.

It’s definitely going to keep me very busy, so the frequency of my blogs may decline just a bit. The new job will however have me traveling more often … so I expect that the percentage of vlogs to increase. (Whats more vlog worthy than seeing the sites in new and different places?)

In a few hours I’m headed back to Indiana to visit the family and will return to Chicago in a few days. I actually have a pretty long list of things to do for this weekend, hopefully I’ll get to all of them.

I’ll post more details about the new gig at a later date.

Well I’m back in town from Doug Fant’s wedding. (I was back Monday … but was too busy to realize it at the time )

The wedding was really nice. I met Aimie (the bride) for the first time - she’s awesome, Doug did well for himself.

Doug’s on fire now with the vlogs. I talked with him last night and heard him editing video in the background, so I’m sure we’ll see more from him very soon.

As for me, I’ve got a gig this week that is bound to be vlog-worthy and a few other ideas so I’ll be posting another one this week.

So in other news … this morning I was getting ready for work and my medicine cabinet bit me. The door has a lil metal piece that latches it closed and that piece gouged a nice little wound into my hand this morning. Profanity that I will not repeat was heard throughout the 7th floor of my building.

So … once again, I’m bleeding while blogging.

In sweet sweet irony I had to go back to the medicine cabinet to get the goods to bandage myself up.

… 2 more weeks to vacation.

I just saw the coolest TV show!! It’s called “Spy” and it’s on BBC 3 in the UK and PBS stations here in the US.

Eight people are turned into spies. They are given ‘legends’ - new identities - and must survive deep undercover within those legends. Making false relationships believable, working in industries they only days ago knew nothing about, extracting information without the mark knowing thats what you are doing. No gadgets or hollywood gimmicks …. just remembering when the last time you sent flowers to your wife was (even though she too is a spy and you’ve only just met her), etc etc.

They interact and are put to test in social and professional settings and must not blow their cover … or anyone else’s.

It was awesome. I want to be on this TV show! I would SO kick ass at that!
