Takin’ it easy

This post filed under: Blog

Well I’ve done it, I’ve requested a week off work for vacation. (The request was approved).

I can’t remember the last time I took a vacation that wasn’t just the week surrounding Christmas or something. Typically I take a day here and there as needed to stay sane, and then take enough time around Christmas / New Years that I can take my time with the family and what not.

But, right now I need more than a day here and there to stay sane, and not having taken an honest vacation in a long time (like approaching EVER) … I promised myself a while ago that I would take a vacation and GO SOMEWHERE.

I have succeeded in only half of that promise. I have taken a week off. I’m not however going anywhere. I would love to travel and go see things that are on ‘my list’ … but I’m too disorganized right now to feel good about doing that. So, I’m gonna take a week and relax, and get done alot of things that I’ve been dying to get done but never have the time to do during the work week. I’m gonna catch up with myself so to speak.

I still have a few weeks to get through before my vacation starts, but at least its scheduled.

ah …. I feel so much better already. Very Happy

Lunch Hour #11: The Tipping Point

This post filed under: Audio Blog, Blog, Lunch Hour

Avaliable Formats: [mp3]

Talking of: Vlog, Vloggers, Chris Nolan, FireAnt, The Archive / OurMedia, Rupert’s Vlog, BitTorrents, RSS, Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell, Michael Verdi, MeFeedia.com, Sterling, DougMeade.com.

(a note to the non-techies that I neglected to make clear: ‘Feeds’ and ‘Subscriptions’ as talked about in this audio blog do NOT use email … it’s a seperate (and really cool) method to keep up to date with stuff on the net)

Central Time Zone - fix?

This post filed under: News

The new server is in the MDT zone. I’ve implimented a fix to get the post date/times to show in central time again. Please let me know if you notice it displaying the timezone incorrectly. I also plan (in the near future) to make it so that your prefered time zone is used (you must be a registered user for that to work - otherwise it will show Chicago time).

Thanks,

Dave

Archive Issues

This post filed under: News

The Archive.org seems to be having some issues, and as a result, you may have problems viewing a vlog or listening to an audio blog here at DavidMeade.com. Please do give it a try, and let me know if it works or not. I’m looking into getting a mirror site available.

Sorry,

- Dave

a hard day’s night

This post filed under: Blog

I was supposed to do a “what is your neighborhood like at 2am” vlog tonight … but I’ve been scrambling around all night gettin’ ready for tomorrow when I have to catch a plane … and I’m just too sleepy now.

I will however do the 2am vlog as soon as I get back in town. Very Happy

Sidebar Tweak

This post filed under: News

I’ve altered the sidebar to order news articles based on their most recent update rather than their initial posting date. This way some lingering issues can be more easily called out as updates occur.

Let me know if, for some reason, you hate this change. Razz

Thanks,

Dave

Step by Step

This post filed under: Blog

If you are seeing this post, then you have arrived at the new location of DavidMeade.com! Welcome back!

Well, I’m an idiot. When I initially moved nameservers for davidmeade.com … I moved them for the wrong domain. Shocked I fixed it, but my error will, sadly, make it just a tad longer than I had hoped for all the DNS issues to go away.

But I’m up and going on the new site as you are (you’re reading this after all), and so far I haven’t found any serious bugs. If you find any bugs please let me know by commenting on this post.

Thanks!
