Hoping Each Leap would be the leap home

This post filed under: Blog

As you all are no doubt aware from previous blogs … I have had my fair share of encounters with “the crazy people”. But the other day I realized that some of “the crazy people” may in fact be quite sane and simply here to help us.

I was in a cab on my way home when I saw what I at first thought was one of “the crazy people”. I was stopped at a stoplight when I realized this one was a bit different. He was standing by himself having a bit of a conversation (which by itself wouldn’t have been so out of the ordinary) but he was what I would call … enraged, at whoever he was arguing with. (Most crazy people mumble to themselves and save the yelling for the innocents who pass by them) He was in fact well groomed and dressed in what seemed to be clean well cared for (albeit ugly) clothes … not the disheveled look most commonly attributed to “the crazy people”. But what got my attention the most was the shear unbridled passion with which this man was arguing to his friend that he alone could see. I mean this guy was very adamantly debating; shaking his head, jabbing his finger in an accusing motion toward the invisible protagonist, and even seemed to be interrupted once or twice.

Suddenly I had a new theory as to the nature of this man’s apparent psychosis. I strained to hear what he was saying hoping to make out a “ziggy” or “Al” or even “leap”.

I wondered what wrong he was sent back to make right. Someone get framed for a murder they didn’t commit? Someone unjustly arrested? Some more mundane family strife that the universe would prefer was wiped from history?

Maybe this guy was some divine instrument of justice traveling through time with his holographic sidekick making the past a more pleasant thing to remember … maybe he was here to right some wrong which if left undone would upset the balance of …

Ah … lights green … never mind … he’s probably just a crazy.
